Eye Witness Reports:...Britannia at sea, Oct 25. 1805...Prior to the engagement of the action, our illustrious leader addressed this short but emphatic sentence to his fleet,...'England expects that every man will do his duty'... From the Euryalus ...The Bucentaur (Villeneuve's ship) fired four broadsides at the Victory before his Lordship ordered the ports to be opened, when the whole broadside, which was double shotted was fired into her... With tribute to Captain Rotherham of the Royal Sovereign (Back page cols 1-2 94cm. of col space). Also:- "FROM THE GIBRALTAR CHRONICLE. Nov. 9"
Nearly three columns of further particulars of the battle ...no less than 5 of the French captured ships were engaged so closely that the muzzles of our lower deck guns touched those of the enemy...
