Lot Essay

Noted as a vessel of 224 tons, built at Newcastle in 1849 and owned by her master Captain Robinson, Lloyd's Register of 1851-2 lists the Eleanor Grace as a snow rather than a pure brig, a rigging technicality presumably overlooked by the artist.
