Fromery workshop, Berlin, circa 1740/1750
Tapering white enamel cup and cartouche-shaped stand, both painted in colour with trelliswork, scalework, cornucopia, yellow cartouches, masks, scrolls and foliage and applied with silver-gilt and translucent green raised relief stars, flowerheads, foliage and Oriental men, the stand with aperture pierced in the centre, the border mounted with a silver-gilt reeded band, the cup similarly bordered, the two handles cast with scrolls and applied with female heads, the inside of cup and base of stand enamelled with flowersprays
