A CONTINENTAL GOLD SNUFF-BOX SET WITH CAMEOS
possibly Scandinavian or Northern German, circa 1760, marked with two French import tax marks for gold 1864-1893
Rectangular box, the cover, four sides and base centred with reserves boldly chased with sunburst motifs surrounded by c-scrolls and foliage, the sides and base chased with central flowersprays, the cover inset with fourteen oval shell cameos carved with Noah's Ark and with various animals, single or in pairs; slightly raised scrolling thumbpiece
