Rectangular mother-of-pearl box with rounded corners, the slightly raised cover and bulging sides covered with a pierced gold trelliswork with flowerheads at the intersections covering a narrow brown hair trelliswork, the lid centred with a glazed oval reserve containing a brown embroidered monogram 'MTH' on beige silk, plain gold borders and mother-of-pearl base
