Lot Essay

Louis de Bourbon, Comte de Clermont was the Abbot of St-Germain, Generalissime of the Royal French Armies and a member of the Académie Française in 1754. He was one of the nine children of Louis III de Bourbon, Prince de Condé and his wife 'Mademoiselle de Nantes' (a legitimized daughter of King Louis XIV). He married Mademoiselle Leduc, called 'Marquise de Tourvoie' and had two children.
