Flattened ball-shaped semi-translucent blonde composition box, inlaid overall with gold piqué, the cover and sides decorated with scrolling Rocaille cartouches in piqué point and piqué posé, the flange of the lid inlaid with gold studs and scrolls, the base centred with a rosette in the same technique on a scalework ground, incorporated slightly raised wavy thumbpiece decorated with latticework

Provenance
According to an old inscription engraved at the inside of the lid, presented by H. R. H. the Princess Augustus William of Prussia to Countess Alfred de Vaudreuil in March 1833.
