Paris, 1783-1789, with the second discharge mark for very small items of Henry Clavel, the enamel miniature probably Geneva, workshop of the Mussards, circa 1720
Circular dark green lacquer box painted with black rings, the independent cover inset with a circular enamel miniature painted with the Triumph of Amphitrite, the bare-breasted sea-nymph riding on a couple of imaginary whales escorted by two tritons and two putti, within a reeded gold frame, the gold mounts of miniature, cover and base stamped with a band of scrolls and vases on a horizontally reeded ground, the inside lined with dark composition
