maker's mark 'LFT', Geneva, circa 1800, with further prestige marks, struck with the Viennese duty mark of 1806/1807, later struck with two French import marks for gold 1864-1893, the flange later engraved 'La Pierrard 1950'
Oblong box with rounded ends, the cover and base engine-turned with concentric reeding, the four sides with horizontal reeding, all panels within gold flutes and scalloped borders, the polished borders of the cover overlapping to be used as thumbpiece, polished gold rims
