by Simon-Achille Léger (fl. 1815-1826), marked, with the excise and third standard marks for gold, Paris 1819-1838, the post-Revolutionary unofficial standard mark for 18 carat gold, later struck with two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks or gold
Circular box, the independent slightly tapering cover and base engine-turned with a latticework pattern, the intersections forming stylized flowerheads, the sides engraved with vertically reeded engine-turning, the matted gold rims stamped with trailing foliage
