by Louis-François Tronquoy (fl. 1827-1871), marked, with the third standard mark for gold, Paris, 1838-1919, later struck with the Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty mark for gold
Rectangular box with concave sides, the cover, sides and base engine-turned with horizontal reeding embellished with arrowheads and narrow stripes, the edges decorated with flutes interspersed with engraved foliage, the cover centred by a wavy polished cartouche with floral outlines engraved with Gothic initials 'MG', the slightly raised thumbpiece stamped with foliage
