by Joseph-François Marcillac (fl. 1809 - after 1814), marked, with the excise and third standard marks for gold, Paris, 1819-1838, the post-Revolutionary unofficial third standard mark for 18 carat gold, Paris, and two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks for gold, the flange later engraved '16.X.52'
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover, sides and base decorated with rectangular panels of horizontal wavy engine-turning forming a pattern of floating shuttles with flowerheads at the intersections, within fluted bands, the sablé borders stamped with trailing foliage, the corners of the sides stamped with foliage, polished rims, very slightly raised thumbpiece
