A gold and enamelled posy holder, snuff-box and vinaigrette
circa 1840, probably Swiss, unmarked
Of pineapple form, enamelled in shades of green, orange, white and blue in patterns of overlapping leaves, palmettes and scrolls, the spherical body with push-pin openings, revealing to one side a removable foliate scroll grille, to the other a compartment for snuff, the baluster shaped upper section removable, the holder formed as eight separate palmette leaves enamelled in green and white, held with an adjustable blue and white band, the interior of each leaf with a gold pin to fix flowers, all suspended on a gold snake chain terminating in an adjustable gold ring enamelled in blue and white and set with a pearl
