woven with a pallus of overlapping red and blue boteh against a ground worked with heart-shaped palmettes, flowers and serrated fronds, the rectangular field of red wool invaded by crested palmettes with curving leaves, the hashiyas woven with a meandering ribbon of round flowerheads, Kashmir, 19th century, (small holes)--140cm x 332cm
