An unusual well detailed Gauge 1 spirit-fired steam model of the German DB Baureihe 983 0-4-0 'Glaskasten' enclosed pilot locomotive No. 98307
built by Aster for Fulgurex, with three-wick spirit lamp and boiler mounted through enclosed cab, unusual steam fittings include safety valve, sight glass, pressure gauge, blower, regulator and screw reverse. Fitted with twin double-acting cylinders and motion with connecting rods to centre blind-axle, details include pump, handrails, hinged cab doors and sprung buffers, finished in DB matt black and red -- 9½in. (24cm.), in original box (some rear bunker railings loose)
