The clock case, with its Egyptian 'battered' or 'sloping' façade recalls the Temple of Tentyris facade of William Bullock's 'London Museum', established in Piccadilly in 1810 and displaying a statue of the sun deity Isis. Another case of this model, but lacking Grecian acroteria, bears a movement by the Royal Exchange firm of James McCabe (fl. 1778-1883). See R.C.R. Barder, The Georgian Bracket Clock, Woodbridge, 1993, p. 197, pl. VI/30.
