the hinged lid profusely inlaid and centred with a large armorial of a shield surmounted by a helmet and winged creature all within foliage and a line inlaid border, flanked by scrolling foliage issuing from vases and with an outer foliate border, the front and sides with scrolling leaf inlay on an ebonised ground
