In 1931, Raymond Loewy began his collaboration with the Hupp Motor Company as a consultant, with the intention of modernizing their automobile design. This crucial commitment, which represented Loewy's first steps in the transportation field, lasted almost four years. Thanks to Loewy's 1934 design for the Hupmobile, the company was able to enter automobile competitions throughout the United States and Europe
