AN ENAMELLED AND GEM-SET CELADON JADE POWDER BOX AND COVER
The circular box and cover carved from an even celadon nephrite material, the box decorated in shallow relief with phoenixes in flight amid flowers between lappet borders, mounted with an enamelled gold rim with cabochon sapphire accents, the cover similarly carved centering on a shou medallion and surmounted by a black onyx ring handle, with a fitted mirror to the interior and accompanied by a powder puff (hairlines), circa 1925, 7.2 x 5.5 cm., with French assay marks, in its original Cartier fitted case
