Dedicated to Zhang Mu (1805-1849)
Three inscriptions at the end of the scroll by Zhang Mu, the first dated twenty-sixth year of the Daoguang era (1846).
The last inscription by Zhang Mu dated second month, jiyou year (1849)
Inscription by the artist at the end of the scroll dated third month, twenty-ninth year of the Daoguang era (1849)
A further six colophons: four by Qi Junzao (1793-1866), and one by each of Feng Zhiyi and Duan Mucai (19th century)

1. Colophons by Zhang Mu and Dai Xi recount how Dai painting a first picture of Zhang's villa, which was subsequently stolen. Zhang asked Dai to paint a second scroll which is the present lot.
