the bullet shaped teapot with a carved wood handle and a tapering spout, the hinged lid with a disk finial, engraved with a coat-of-arms and crest within elaborate mantling - 10.8cm (4 1/4 in), 12oz.

Another example, 1708-09, was exhibited at the National Museum of Ireland in The Goldsmiths of Dublin 1637-1987 and is illustrated on page 13 of the exhibition catalogue.

The bullet shaped teapot, small in size because of the high cost of tea during the time of it's use, appeared at the beginning of the 18th century. It's form is derived from Chinese porcelain teapots of the period.
