A rare Japanese telescopic fan, the leaf painted with cranes and flowers against a gold ground, the verso fish, with ivory sticks, the guardsticks decorated with Shibayama work birds, insects, wisteria and daisies, with ogime with three Shibayama work insects - 7in.(18cm.)extened, 5.5in. (14cm.), closed, circa 1880 (old repair to one guardstick, slight repairs to the gold ground of leaf)
