A Canton cabriolet fan, the leaves painted with figures on terraces, their faces of ivory, their clothes of silk, one with an ornamental pheasant, roses and a carrot, the sticks lacquered to simulate tortoiseshell and gilt with fish and shellfish, the guardsticks extended beyond the fan with a finial - 8.5in. (22cm.), circa 1850
