Venus at Vulcan's forge, a fine fan painted with Venus commissioning armour for her son Aeneas, the verso with a lady and Cupid, the mother of pearl sticks finely carved and pierced with elegant figures, musicians and putti, silvered and gilt and backed with mother of pearl, the guardsticks applied with chased gold panels with putti, birds and flowers - 11in. (28cm.), French, circa 1750 (three sticks repaired)
