Abigail offering food to King David and his followers, a fan, the leaf painted with Abigail kneeling before David who stands outside a pink tent, the verso with the Archangel Michael appearing to Hagar in the desert of Beersheba, and pointing out a well, her son Ishmael is sleeping nearby, the sticks alternately in pairs of mother of pearl and horn, carved, pierced and gilt with portraits, urns of flowers and putti - 10in. (25cm.), French, circa 1750
