A JACKSON-ENDORSED PETITION OF THE NEW JERSEY LEGISLATURE. A petition drawn up and signed by 52 members of the New Jersey legislature, recommending "Thomas C. Ryall Esquire, late of the county of Burlington in this state and now Captain's Clerk on board the Frigate Brandywine on the Pacific Station, to receive the appointment of Purser in the United States Navy." Jackson has endorsed both the petition and the address leaf, "Referred to the Secretary of the Navy for his consideration." (2)
