Circa 1780, possibly for the Russian market
Each with a putto standing against a grape and vine sheathed Corinthian column, surmounted by a laurel-leaf cast fluted bobèche with beaded rim, on stepped and molded square plinths with leaf-tipped edge, over a beaded edge, on round feet

Lot Essay

This same model was sold anonymously at Christie's Monaco, 22 June 1991, lot 85 (FFr. 66,600), whilst a further closely related pair, but with one putto replaced, was sold anonymously at Christie's London, 9 June 1994, lot 2.
