There were two clock makers who signed their works Cronier à Paris, Jean-François Cronier (who died in 1807 at the age of 56) and Jean-Baptiste-François Cronier elected maître in 1781.

The circular white enamelled dial with Arabic and Roman chapter ring, set with pierced hands, within a glazed drum bezel over scrolling foliage within a fluted arched surround, flanked by flowering reeded columnar supports, suromounted by a flowering urn, on a rectangular base with inswept corners, set with a mask and scrolling foliage, on toupie feet, later movement
