A PAIR OF LOUIS XV GILTWOOD FAUTEUILS A LA REINE
Circa 1750
Each padded cartouche back, out-turned arms and deep bowed seat upholstered in 18th century Aubusson tapestry, the arched crestrail and front seat rail carved with a central floarl clasp and with rocaille scrolling acanthus edge to the hatched ground, the downswept grooved arms above similarly grooved flower-headed cabriole legs with peg feet, inscribed in blue chalk 6348, stamped in black ink 39020, with the printed paper label MUSEO NACIONEL DE L.../29SEP1945 stamped 312 and 313 respectively, and another printed paper label FUMIGADO/BARTHEL MEUBLES S.C.A./CAP. RAMON FREIRE 3065/T.E. 70-8573/3Feb1..5 (2)
