The architect Jac. Duncker (?-1935) was trained by Eduard Cuypers and Bleys. Many houses built after his designs are to be found along the Amsterdam canals. The present lots were designed for his own interior. Both its abstract geometrical carved decoration as the inlaid work are beyond question inspired by furniture of Jac. van den Bosch and H.P. Berlage.
