A Dutch-engraved dated armorial goblet
Circa 1766
The campana-shaped bowl decorated with the crowned coat of arms of Stadholder Prince Willem IV (1711-1751) encircled by the Garter, inscribed: HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE above the latin numerals for 1766 and floral sprays, flanked by two crowned lion supporters, the upper edge with a band of hatches, on multi-knopped stem enclosing a elongated tear, on conical foot (minute chip to the edge polished)
