An early Meissen chinoiserie two-handled covered cup and stand
1725-1730, the cup with gilder's mark 4, the cover with 7
(Zweihenkeldeckeltasse) gilt and painted in colours in the manner of Johann Gregorius Höroldt with minute Orientals at various pursuits within ogival cartouches within Goldspitzenbordüre and purple and Eisenrot scrollwork, further with sprays of Indianische Blumen, with ear-shaped handles, the domed cover en suite with ball finial, the stand with large sprays of Indianische Blumen, surrounding a central roundel with raised edge depicting a fisherman by a pagoda, painted by another hand, with large Goldspitzenbordüre to the border (one handle repaired)
