A Dutch delft two-handled chinoiserie flower-holder or tulipiere
Circa 1700, marked LVE above 2, 0 and E, for Lambertus van Eenhoorn at De Metalen Pot
Painted in colours with vivid green, in the baroque style, the flattened balustroid body finely decorated with three bands; the shoulders pierced with tiny holes, between a row of ammonite scrolls strewn with flowerheads and a row of small roundels containing branches and precious objects, the waisted central part with scrolling flowers, the lower bulging part with a mythical beast and a Ho Ho mythical bird flanked by flowering chrysanthemum branches, with upright neck, the double-scrolled handles en suite
