Lot Essay

This small private altarpiece consists of two biblical representations. The Crucifixion appears to be based on the work of Bernardo Daddi (? 1512-1520 Rome), while the Annunciation is after the miraculous mid-14th century fresco in the Church of the Santissima Annunziata in Florence.

We are grateful to Everett Fahy for the above information.
