A French silver-mounted cylindrical tankard
the hinged cover with rose finial, moulded with bands of beads and further ornament, the fluted body engraved with a rebus of an anchor within a foliate roundel below swags suspended from bows, flanked by two flower sprays on a ground enriched with stars, the glass early 19th century, the silver marked for Risler & Carré, Paris, circa 1890 (minor scratches to the glass) -- 22cm. high
