Enamelled as a still-life with a blue ground ram's head handled vase overflowering with brightly coloured flowers resting on a damask table cloth, the faux tile wall enriched with gilt scrollwork, composed of twenty-eight square tiles

Lot Essay

Edmond Lachenal (1855-c.1930) was a French sculptor and ceramist collaborating with both Theodore Deck and with the directors at the Daum glassworks. He is noted for developing a velvety textured glaze and for perfecting metallic enamels in the 1890's. His work met with success at the Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900).
