AN ITALIAN RENAISSANCE STYLE STAINED WALNUT CASSONE-ON-STAND
19th Century, comprising some 17th Century elements
The rectangular foliate-carved and dentille-molded top with outset corners above a conforming panelled case centered by a fall front with a relief of the arts, flanked by a pair of doors carved with grotesque masks over a pierced apron centered by a grotesque mask within strapwork scrolls flanked by a pair of eagles over dragon-form trestle supports, on a foliate-carved base joined by stretchers, with an inscribed number to reverse M1734/5051
54½in. (138.5cm.) high, 74¼in. (189cm.) wide, 28¼in. (72cm.) deep
