AN ENGLISH LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY STEEL TRAVELLING CORKSCREW
MARKED ON THE INSIDE J RILEY
folding double-hinge with faceted spine and grooved shank, pipe tamper ends - length 3 3/8 ins. (8.5 cm.), some light rust/corrosion; and an associated two-piece engine-turned cylindrical wood case of a similar age, several old splits, length -- 4 3/8 ins. (11 cm.)
