Lot Essay

This rare Russian moon globe is the precursor to the more famous Räth moon globe, issued with German script around 1963 (cf. Christie's South Kensington Globes and Planetaria, 25 November 1998, Lot 32). The information was gathered from Russian photographs taken largely in 1959.
