An unusual 4½-inch (11.5cm.) diameter reproduction of Behaim's "Erd-Apfel" of 1492 made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes with gold highlighting, the inscription crediting the German National Museum and George Philip & Son in German gothic script in the southern Atlantic ocean with the logo for Fleming-Verlag, in a fixed, ebonised iron meridian circle, with a hand-coloured paper horizon graduated in degrees and showing days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, on three barley-twist scroll legs united by a concave triform meridian support -- 7in. (17.8cm.) high
