A Sèvres-style pale-blue-ground beaker, cover and stand
the beaker painted with a bird on a nest before a spray of garden flowers issuing from a basket, within a tooled gilt shaped octagonal cartouche, the reverse with a similar cartouche painted with a vase issuing flowers, the saucer and cover each with two similar fan-shaped cartouches, reserved on a gilt flowerhead and graduating scale-pattern ground, the saucer with blue interlaced L mark enclosing date letter for 1778, incised 40, the beaker and saucer painted Sevres Y, the porcelain 18th century, the decoration later, (rubbing to gilding, chip to inner rim of cover and rim of saucer)
