MAKER'S MARK OF JOHANNIS NYS, PHILADELPHIA, 1695-1710

This spoon is similar to an example with the same monogram at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which descended in the Branson family of Philadelphia. The initials MB are thought to be those of Mary Branson (d.c.1727), wife of merchant William Branson (d.1760).
