AN ETRUSCAN BRONZE WARRIOR
Umbria, Circa Mid 5th Century B.C.
Wearing a high crested helmet ornamented with dotted bands, the cheek-pieces upturned, and a quirass with shoulder flaps and a belt, ornamented with incised circles and dots, also wearing greaves and a short pleated skirt, his genitalia exposed below, standing with his left leg advanced, his right arm raised, once wielding a spear, his now-missing left arm once extended with a shield, a tang on the underside of the left foot for insertion into a base
