A GREEK TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A WOMAN
Circa Early 5th Century B.C.
Perhaps from Sicily, standing with her legs together on a low square plinth, wearing a himation over a chiton, holding a pig by the hind-legs in her right hand, her left raised to her chest, a stephane in her hair, her lips pursed into a slight "archaic" smile, perhaps representing a votary with an offering to Demeter or Persephone
16 in. (40.6 cm) high
