A CORINTHIAN BLACK-FIGURED PYXIS
Circa Early 6th Century B.C.
The miniature vessel globular in form, on a raised disk base, with a short neck and two vertical arching handles, decorated on one side with a panther and a goat, the other side with a boar and owl with its wings outstretched, the field filled with rosettes of various sizes, the shoulder with a checker-pattern, with rays above the foot, the domed lid with a knob handle, also with a checker pattern
2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm) high
