Tarantine, Circa Mid 4th Century B.C.
The half-moon antefix with a facing head of Medusa, her thick locks center-parted, framing her face, her round face with fleshy features, her lips slightly parted, her large almond-shaped eyes thickly lidded, with four snakes slithering in the mass of curls, two facing inward along the cheeks, and two facing outward, their tails tied beneath her chin, white slip preserved throughout
