AN OLD BABYLONIAN AMETHYST CYLINDER SEAL
Circa 1900-1700 B.C.
With three standing figures, in center the god Amurru in a knee-length robe holding his shepherd's crook, to the right a god facing him in a horned tiara and a long flounced robe holding one hand forward, probably the sun god Shamash, and to the left a Lama goddess in a horned tiara and a long flounced robe, standing with both hands raised, the terminal a three-line inscription in Babylonian cuneiform naming the owner "Adi-anni'a, son of Nur-ishara, servant of (the god) Amurru"
