A GRAECO-PERSIAN BANDED AGATE CYLINDER SEAL
Circa 5th-Early 4th Century B.C.
Barrel-shaped, with a Persian horseman riding to the right, spearing a charging bear, its fore-legs raised, the horse with dressed tail and a fringed saddle-cloth, the horseman wearing a soft Persian tiara, tunic and trousers, holding the reigns in one hand, the spear held high in the other

Said to be from near Kirkuk
Acquired in 1940 and passed by descent to a Lady of Title
