Lot Essay

William Henry Margetson studied at South Kensington and between the years of 1885-1904 exhibited a total of thirty-four works at the Royal Academy. A painter of portraits as well as figurative and literary subjects, he lived at Wallingford in Berkshire with his wife Helen Howard until his death in 1940.
