Lot Essay

An Irish painter of portraits, genre and landscape he lived in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone. He exhibited from 1875 at the Royal Academy and Grosvenor Gallery. His paintings often depicted topical events such as Mr Gladstone Introducing the Home Rule Bill, 13 February 1893, or scenes from matches at Lords or Wimbledon.
